Your future is now! It is important to plan ahead. Make middle school and high school count.
The world is changing every day and it is getting harder for people to find good paying jobs if you do not have a college degree. If you want the freedom to choose a good career and earn a high salary, then it is important to start planning for college while you are still in middle school. If you didn’t start planning in middle school, it’s not too late; you still can get into a good college by making the right choices in high school.
The counseling team at Carnegie Schools-Whittier is here to support you through your academic journey to college. Students have access to the academic counseling team throughout the school year. Parents and students may make appointments to meet with a counselor throughout the year, including in the summer.
Students meet with a counselor to plan their schedule, work on their four-year plan, talk about the college application process, and other academic topics. Throughout the school year, the counseling team presents specialized topics to students in groups. Some topics include, but are not limited to, reviewing PSAT scores and preparing for the SAT, the UC and CSU application process, the road to college, and financial aid.
